F.A.Q.
Q: How do I schedule a service appointment?
A: We sell our timeslots in a way that you can schedule your preferred date and time when you sign up for the service. We use drop down menus when ordering to select your preferred date and time from the timeslots currently available. At Water Ketch Sprinkler, we like clients to schedule and order their service online at your own convenience. You can schedule your activation or winterization on our website.
Q: Should I make an Activation appointment? I really only need a known repair.
A: Smaller repairs can be handled during the activation appointment. An incentive to order an activation is you get the turn-on service along with programming and equipment inspection. If you need water turned on when we arrive at the service location, you will be charged for an activation.
Q: I didn't get an email and I usually get an email. Why didn't I get an email?
A: You can sign up for our mailing list by scrolling all the way down on our website and entering your email address and subscribing. We email out a notice to sign up for activations starting in March and send a couple reminders to people on the mailing list who have not yet signed up. We do the same in September for winterizations, sending out a couple reminders to people on the mailing list who have not yet signed up. You will get a few more emails from us throughout the year reminding you that we can take care of any problems with your sprinkler system. You might also check your trash and junk mail folders, and if you need us to add your email address manually, please just text or email us to let us know.
Q: You do such great work! Will you do landscaping and other lawn maintenancefor us?
A: No, we focus only on sprinklers and irrigation equipment, although we will also help with water supply components of water features connected to irrigation lines as well.
Q: I am not a return client and I do not understand about paying for service ahead of time. Do I have to prepay?
A: Yes, in order for us to streamline our process, including the work order and invoice creation as well as the payment collection, our procedures are set to maximize the time and value of our technicians providing remarkably excellent service. Except for smaller repairs totaling about $60 or less, service diagnosed that are expected to be above and beyond that initial prepayment will be discussed ahead of time so clients will know what they are getting in to. Payment owed will be collected in full after the service is completed (and also due each day for service completed that day, if applicable).
Q: When should I turn on my sprinklers?
A: Turn-on service, or Spring Activation, is one of the services we provide. Early Activations start Apr 1, and even earlier, weather permitting. And signups on our website are generally available for scheduling from the first week of March. If you would like to be activated earlier than your scheduled date, if it is possible, please indicate so in the order notes. Around Mar 21, we will open later dates for activation in the spring season and we will send out an email at that time to encourage clients to sign up and schedule. There is no perfect date for activation, as so much depends on the weather and also your system. Generally April 1 is an okay date but attention does need to be paid to make sure your equipment will withstand another spring freeze. May 1 is generally safer, but almost always there is at least one more snow and freeze event to take action for. By mid-June or so most systems are activated or the activation is at least scheduled.
Q: When should I turn off my sprinklers?
A: You can turn your controller off, or skip a watering, any time we have substantial rainfall. For turning off for the season, shutting down, or as we call, Winterization, it is best to do this before the first hard freeze around Halloween. Also you can take action for a hard freeze to help protect your equipment and reduce the chance of freeze damage. You can keep your water on as long as you like, but you should also consider letting your turf go dormant as the nights become shorter. Generally Oct 20 is a fine target for Winterization, but there is no perfect date, as so much depends year to year on the weather, as well as your system and irrigation needs. We send our email at the end of August to begin scheduling, and generally start winterizations the first week of October and most all systems are winterized by the first week of November.
Q: I am having trouble with my cart. Cannot remove duplicates, have $0 order, etc. What can I do?
A: Items in your cart can be removed. Occasionally a page needs to be refreshed to show an empty cart. Starting over at our website in a new browser tab may help. If you repeatedly have a $0 cart, you might need to scroll down all the way to see all items before choosing date/time, zones, and adding to cart. If you run into too much trouble, please call or text 303-660-8360 for assistance. We appreciate your feedback-- we want your order and checkout experience to be smooth and easy!
